Collection IX is as unbridled as the 2-week, 2-wheeled trip that inspired it, guided full-throttle into uncharted territory in both catalyst & cast. Shot in renegade-mode under a Chicago viaduct and in an arcane venue whose function is impossible to define, the collection is as close to and as far away from anything designer Nicole Maret has previously created. Comprised of an unexpected amalgam of sequins, sheers, sheen & subversion, IX is neither spring nor fall, but everywhere in between & simultaneously nowhere at all. The unofficial campaign consists of photos & videos taken on an iphone from the back of the bike along the road, and is highly symbolic in freedom, risk, variability and chance.
As THE ORDER charts its next course & as Chicago becomes another mark on the map, the horizons ahead become imminent, indefinite and compelling; a trifecta of uncertainty that has translated into this collection.
